Roscommon Town's Annual Easter Parade which takes place on Easter SundayRSS 2.0
Bonnets, Bands, Bunting & Banter – it’s the Roscommon Easter Parade this Sunday!
Roscommon Town’s annual Easter Parade promises to be a lively and fun filled event this year when it takes to the streets just after 1pm on Sunday April 20th. A great mix of floats is already lined up and the forecast is promising which should make for a great day out for all. It’s a fantastic community occasion and in addition to the usual categories this year’s event will also feature an Easter Bonnets competition with some nice prizes. So dust off your bonnets, berets, caps, fedoras, panamas, trilbys or whatever and get creative.
Prizes will also be awarded for entries in the following sections: Best Community/Voluntary, Best Commercial, Best Shop Window Display and Most Entertaining. The parade will follow its traditional route with floats assembling in the Abbeytown area in advance. Starting at approximately 1 o’clock, the parade will pass along Abbey Street, Church Street and Main Street to the reviewing stand which will be situated just in front of the Bank of Ireland. Floats will then proceed past The Square area into Castle Street concluding at Rockford’s where there is ample parking if required. It is not too late to get involved with entries being taken this week. Commercial floats are €60 and community/voluntary floats are €30.
